UAV Training Developer

Project Description:

MDA is currently expanding its Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) systems which are currently delivering UAV capability to NATO forces in Afghanistan. The UAV carries a number of payloads including EO/IR, SAR and EW.



Position Description:

The Training Developer is responsibility for UAV system training standards. In addition, this manager is ensures that pre-deployment meets the customer specific requirements for the Deployed Site (Afghanistan).



Responsibilities:

  • Develops the training standards and documentation for Air Vehicle Operator, Payload Operator, as well as Mechanic and Electronic Technicians.
  • Coordinates with the UAV Training Manager on standardization issues.
  • Coordinates with the customer training organization to ensure operational requirements of the Heron UAV service are fulfilled by appropriately trained personnel.
  • Ensure continuous improvement and update of training.


Requirements (experience/skills):

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous training development experience is essential.
  • UAV experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Military and Air Operations is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with airworthiness, and air safety standards is highly desirable.
  • Strong management and personnel skills.
  • Committed to the objectives of this project.
Comments/Special Considerations:

Due to program security restrictions, Canadian citizenship and SECRET clearance is required.
Travel to Afghanistan on an infrequent basis may be required.
