Position Description:

MDA has been providing new graduates in with a great place to work and great projects to work on since 1969. Founded by Dr. John MacDonald, a former UBC electrical engineering professor and Vern Dettwiler, an engineer from the UBC computing centre, MDA has grown into an international company, with over 3000 employees around the world.

We anticipate a number of opportunities at the new graduate level for 2008 across our business areas. As a new graduate engineer at MDA you'll work under the direction of experienced staff on complex technical projects that provide solutions to business problems for customers around the world. Whether it's as an Analyst in our R&D group developing leading edge tools to improve remote sensing technology, a Software Engineer working on the next generation of earth observation systems or developing software in the B2B and consumer web space, MDA offers a challenging and rewarding environment in which to build your skills after graduation.

Requirements (experience/skills):

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Geomatics, Engineering Physics, Physics or Applied Math.
Strong working knowledge of C/C++ and/or Java; MATLAB, VC++ and MFC an asset.
Experience developing in a UNIX environment.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle.
Experience with AI, image processing, remote sensing, GUI development or real time systems an asset.
Experience working in a project environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Enthusiastic, with a demonstrated ability to learn. Previous co-op experience an asset.
