The National Land Information Service (NLIS) was one of the first electronic service delivery initiatives in the UK. It is designed to provide users with easy and convenient access to land and property information held by local authorities, central government and other organisations who provide official sources of land and property data. Conveyancers who use NLIS benefit from a fast and efficient electronic service safe in the knowledge that property search responses are authoritative and fully comprehensive. Customers access the searches provided by the NLIS Hub via a licensed retail channel.

MDA plays a key role in NLIS. MDA built and operates the NLIS Hub under license from Land Data. The Hub directly and electronically connects government data providers to the NLIS retail channels, whose role is to distribute the search information to customers.

MDA also operates SearchFlow, the licensed NLIS Channel.
