For immediate release: February 24, 2003 MDA Helps Modernize the Processing of Land Information Requests for Three More Local Authorities in the UKRichmond, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA) announced today that the company has been awarded contracts by three local Councils in England to begin modernizing the processing of land information requests through NLIS, the National Land Information Service.These contracts comprise the first of two phases of the Local Authority Modernization Program for Liverpool City Council, the South Norfolk Council, and the Borough of Telford & Wrekin. When both phases are completed, the Councils’ Land Charges departments will be able to respond to land information requests electronically. The first phase contracts with MDA total $1.5 million (CDN). Liverpool, South Norfolk, and Telford & Wrekin process thousands of property search applications every year from solicitors. At present, it takes several days to process each application, but when their systems are modernized the wait time will be substantially reduced. The Borough of Slough was the first Council to sign up for the Local Authority Modernization Program last September.
