MDA Completes Canada's New Military Police Information System

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates today announced the successful completion of SAMPIS, the Security and Military Police Information System, for the Canadian Department of National Defence. (See MDA news release of April 3, 2002).

"SAMPIS is a nationwide, complex wireless information system," said MDA Project Manager John Hay, "We completed it on time and on budget."

Integrated and implemented by MDA's Information Systems Group, SAMPIS assists Canada's Military Police carry out their responsibilities through the centralization of police information. It provides officers with the ability to record, maintain, and analyze vital information.

The Canadian Forces Provost Marshall, Colonel D.A. Cooper, presented the MDA team with a Certificate of Appreciation for "...providing the Military Police with a first-rate, truly bilingual and national police management system...".
