For immediate release: May 6, 2004 MDA Receives Over $2.5 Million in Information Systems Follow-on ContractsRichmond, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA) announced today that its Information Systems group has signed three contracts for Earth Observation satellite ground station maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements worth $2.5 million CDN.The first contract is with a confidential client to provide maintenance services for an advanced satellite ground station involved in surveillance and information gathering. The contract provides for 'round the clock on-site support and other services for the ground station, which was commissioned in 2004. Two other contracts were signed on another continent. The first contract specifies the supply of upgrades to existing MDA synthetic aperture radar processing systems in several ground stations. The second contract covers the provision of a recording and archiving facility for another synthetic aperture radar program. Both satellite programs provide information for scientific and commercial applications.
