For immediate release: February 23, 2006 MDA Adds Information Solution For Local Authorities In The UKRichmond, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA), a provider of essential information solutions, announced today that it has launched an additional electronic information solution for Local Authorities in the United Kingdom to replace the existing manual process for sending and receiving search information between County Councils and their District Councils. MDA is the provider of the National Land Information Service (NLIS) in the UK used by solicitors to access authoritative information held by Local Authorities on all properties in England and Wales. The new information solution, which is built upon MDA's successful NLIS infrastructure, will connect the District and County Councils electronically through the proven NLIS interface. It replaces the existing slow and expensive manual process that uses fax, mail and courier services for sending and receiving property search information between County and District Councils. "The solution improves customer response times and helps prepare the Districts and Counties for the Home Information Pack era when reduced turnaround times for search information are expected from Local Authorities" said Peter Stibrany, General Manager of NLIS Hub. We plan to extend this transaction based service to other Local Authorities and to add new features in the coming months." After initially piloting the service in five County Councils and 16 of their Districts, the service went live on Monday, 6 February 2006 with Lincolnshire County Council. The Counties involved in the pilot were Devon, Dorset, East Sussex, Hampshire and Lincolnshire. About MDA
