For immediate release: January 3, 2007 MDA Adapts Its UK Valuation Solution To Support HIPsRichmond, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA), a provider of essential information solutions, announced today that its UK subsidiary xit2 has developed with SAVA Ltd. the facility to provide SAVA's business exchange (SAVA BX) with an information solution to manage the interaction between Home Information Pack (HIP) providers and Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) inspectors. SAVA is using MDA's solution during the Home Information Pack (HIP) trials. SAVA is an organization that provides extensive services to independent home inspectors and EPC inspectors, and is currently one of only two organizations approved by the Secretary of State to certify Home Inspectors to produce Home Condition Reports and Energy Performance Certificates. SAVA BX operates as a panel manager connecting HIP providers to SAVA's panel of certified EPC inspectors. The information solution provided to SAVA is an adaptation of MDA's valuation solution which connect lenders across the UK with surveyor panel managers and their panel of chartered surveyors. This adaptation accommodates the interaction between HIP providers and Energy Performance inspectors, which includes inspector selection, secure electronic document exchange, energy performance report generation and QA services to ensure full compliance with the HIP provider's requirements.
