Richmond, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA), a provider of essential information solutions, has been awarded a contract with Atlas Copco Rock Drills AB of Örebro, Sweden, to provide an advanced technology solution for automated navigation of underground mining vehicles.

MDA's sophisticated guidance and control system will allow Atlas Copco's load-haul-dump vehicles to navigate autonomously through underground mine tunnels without the need for human intervention.
