MDA continues to support naval defence information solution

Richmond, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA), a provider of essential information solutions, announced today that it has signed a contract with the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) to upgrade the Naval Combat Operator Trainer (NCOT) to support the new Long Range Infrared Search and Track System being installed on the Canadian Patrol Frigates (Halifax Class).

MDA delivered the Naval NCOT solution several years ago to DND. The solution simulates the control rooms of naval vessels and is used for training in operational procedures and decision-making. The agreement extends MDA's multi-million dollar contract to provide in-service support, which includes upgrading its solution to reflect ship enhancements and ongoing changes in training procedures that will enhance NCOT for the Naval Fleet School users.
